i would also agree that startingyoung is the best thing to do. Prinitng out newspapers and articles on nature and conservation can catch eyes of only enthusiasts of nature. A lay man, in normal circumstances, would just read, think and forget. What is required is a practical action and measures to save nature by us, the ones who care!

Roxy kutta! I see the aggression and passion. oh the world is being changed by us and i see the change so well in the city i spent most time in. The rains that were prompt and in plenty 12 years ago, now seems to be not bothring to shower here and when it does, what a fury! i still wonder where the morning fogs have dissappeared! Charity begins at home and it can be started small by developing a care for the nature and teaching others too. A small action can teach others and the awarness of our impact on the nature should also be there.
I happened to watch the documentary on the sabarimala pilgrimage and the effects on nature the pilgrims have on the forests around when they go to meet the lord of the forest- Sree Ayappan! It showed how the use of plastic by the pilgrims on the way to meet the lord has been affecting the wild animals and in turn the forests around them. This was just an example. We can start by reducing the use of plastic at homes first and then move to teach others with examples.

prasad, great to hear from you! here we had a discussion on nature vs civilization and one factor i mentioned was that the best way to get awareness is thru putting nature in the comics, anime etc which the kids devour.

ya am honored :D

japanese must be the largest in consuming seafood w.r.to the population. this is reflected in the catches i think. sharkfin soup is a delicacy may be with medicinal value or enhancing male potency or such rubbish and thatz how the sharks get killed up, just for the fins. similarily whales are also killed up for some other things. it is shameful indeed. am not sure what the govt's stand is on this. let us hope they'll be wise in that.

read your post tahnks to the http://technorati.com/tag/kerala where your blog appeared.
There are people who do care for or about nature depending on time and place and opportunity. God knows, I am one. ( The only thing is whether God doth exist)
